Elves Immortality
(Preview)
Were Elves truly Immortal? I have a quote here that may suggest otherwise...
"For the Elves die not till tile world dies, unless they are slain or waste in grief (and to both these seeming deaths they are subject); neither does age subdue their strength, unless one grow weary of ten thousand centuri...

War against the Elves
(Preview)
I believe I have read somewhere about the Dwarves engaging in wars against the Elves. I have never seen the text that details this.
If it did happen then when and where? Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I really can't remember.

What was that, by the way, was it the Balrog being noisy, or the orcs drumming war-ishly, for whatever reason? I can't recall... Well, anyway, I mainly wanted to ask: Gandalf mentions some dark creatures when he goes down with the Balrog into the deepest depths of Moria, does anybody know what t...

Giants in Middle-earth?
(Preview)
I was wondering not so long ago about Giants in Middle-earth. Giants are not mentioned much in middle earth. Are they a different race?, or when the word 'giant' is used, is tolkien just referring to Ents or trolls or other creatures of great height? In the book 'the hobbit' I believe they...

Edoras defences
(Preview)
It appears that Edoras had very feeble defences. The outer wall was made of wood rather than stone so all an enemy would have to do it pour flamable fluid onto it and set it alight. Then the whole wall would go up in flames including defenders on top. The wall would then burn until, depending on the severit...

This is actually regarding Glamdring, Orcrist, and Sting. Does anyone know just how Turgon's sword ended up in Middle-Earth? And is there any mention of who owned Orcrist or Sting? Were all three weapons from Gondolin?
These are just some questions that I never heard a proper answer for.

Their strenght seemed to suprise e...
