Sauron's Missing Finger

Is there any indication anywhere as to which finger Sauron is missing?  Gollum talks about the black hand only having four, but I've been unable to find out which hand and which finger.  If anyone has any idea, please post.  Thanks!

Good question. I seem to recall reading somewhere that it was his first finger, but I can't prove that and I also may only think that because Frodo lost HIS first finger.

In other words, I don't know. ;)

I think it was his right index finger. He most probably wore the Ring on his Right hand and becuase its the most focal finger probably the index. Also, not that its any real proof, but this is the place where all ringbearers wore the Ring in the Film.

In the book it is said the third finger that Frodo lost.
Not counting you would think it's your middle finger. But somewhere in the Field of Cormallen chapter Tolkien mentions the third finger as the ring finger, meaning that's the finger Frodo lost.
Now I am aware that it is only speculation to say that Sauron did the same, but as far as I know there is no indication.
