Bear Lord Elrond of Rivendell - Rank 9 Status: Offline Posts: 2959 Date: Apr 9, 2012	Permalink   Huan, It was a encyclopedia of all things Tolkien.  It was a tongue and cheek resource based on "Redbook" kept by the hobbits .  The Thain's Book was a reference of hobbit history and the world view in the Shire. It is/was an excellent reference for things in The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and the Silmarillion. So perhaps Tolkien fans may come to the rescue of this wonderful website. __________________

I decided to search a little known resource I learned about a couple years back and I think you all will be as happy as I was. sirkubador Being lies with Eru - Rank 1 Status: Offline Posts: 1 Date: May 8, 2019	Permalink   Hi fellow fans, I have just revived the Thain's Book (original tuckborough.net, then thainsbook.net) on a new address - thainsbook.minastirith.cz (kind of Thain's book is located in Minas Tirith now ;) ). This is more of a call to original author to claim his or her rights. I plan to update it a bit for 2019 in terms of code/mobile devices, etc. and translate it eventually, if I am not forced to shut it down sooner.
