Perhaps...

I was wondering if I could start a thread similar to trivia, but with riddles.
I mean, someone says a riddle which must be ME-related, and the others try to answer it
the one that manages to answer it can be next
the rules are just like in trivia, only with riddles instead of questions, and the riddles could also be made for different subjects
but I am not sure if this would be allowed, so, I am just making a proposal...

RE: Pehaps

I like that idea but it might be a bit too similar to the trvia thread. If it is allowed though I for one will be posting in it.

not quite
because...it is not a lore question
it is a riddle...and for that you don't only have to know lore, you have to be smart

RE: Perhaps...

Well i think its a good idear, but judging by the riddles in the Hobbit I would not stand a chance - I only knew about 2 maximum out of it!

No-legs lay on one-leg, two-legs sat near on three-legs, four-legs got some. Answer = "Fish on a little table, man at table sitting on a stool, the cat has the bones" - What??!!

A box without hinges, key, or lid,

Yet golden treasure inside is hid. Answer = Eggses - WHAT??!!!

An eye in a blue face

Saw an eye in a green face.

"That eye is like to this eye"

Said the first eye,

"But in low place,

Not in high place.". Answer =  "Sun on the daisies it means, it does." - WHAT??!!!!!!

I really don't get those riddles.

no, much easier ones
like:

He is master of the flames
And owns the ring of fire
Wild horses he tames
And comes when need is dire

Answer = Gandalf

Sounds like a wonderful idea not to mention a lot of fun, and from the sound of it others here seem to agree! So...you have permission to open a riddle thread whenever you wish within the general forums. Enjoy everyone!

well, not really I guess
The One said we should use these polite terms for the Valar but he never said we couldn't do the same for lesser moderators such as the Maiar.
in the end I guess it is up to each of us to decide when he wishes to use such a term and when not
